Suna K makes glass companions that can act as vessels, ceremonial objects, or simply as mates that hang around to complement your environment.

Using techniques of blown glass, developed across various histories and geographies, Suna K companions resemble vessel forms, altars, and at times have zoomorphic limbs. The companions are often composed of stacks, which makes each member possess multiple stories and qualities, leading to a unique character.

All Suna K companions are hand blown and hand assembled in Eskisehir, in close proximity to the remnants of some of the most ancient civilizations. The hotshop is located in a former caravanserai, this stone structure is part of a 16th Century compound consisting of multiple buildings.

Who is Suna K?

A glass blower, a designer, and an artist came together to form the mysterious subjectivity of Suna K. A woman from Anatolia with strong ties to myriad histories and geographies, Suna K possesses the ability to conjure glass companions. If we were to translate her name into English, that could simultaneously refer to an Altar (sunak) and a species of the duck family (suna); meanings that frequently seep into the vessels and companions she brings to earth.
